Vourvoulos

Rhombus center

Vourvoulos is a small, quiet village located on the north east part of Santorini, about 4 kilometers from the capital Fira. It is amphitheatrically built on a slope that overlooks the east region of the island with the broad plains. The panorama from Vourvoulos is awe-inspiring as its position offers magnificent views to vast vineyards, meadows and shores.

Despite its proximity to the lively Fira, the atmosphere in Vourvoulos is utterly different. It is a peaceful settlement that has to offer carefree moments away from the hustle and the bustle. There are some cozy cafes, pool bars with refreshing cocktails and traditional restaurants where fresh fish and delicious local specialties are served. You can stroll on paved paths, admire the Cycladic architecture of the houses and lovely yards and visit the two churches it holds, Agios Efstratios and Agios Panteleimonas.

From Vourvoulos
you can access…

…Pori, Columbo and Vourvoulos beaches that are not among the famous beaches of Santorini since they are mainly unspoiled and to reach them you need your own vehicle. Sometimes big waves are induced by strong winds. Nevertheless, they own crystal-clear waters, a distinct beauty and provide privacy and tranquility. There is also a small charming harbor where fishing boats anchor.

For your stay
there are…

…some wonderful villas, hotels with sea view and rooms to let. Finally, the village has mini markets that provide the necessary products. In Fira you can find the nightlife and everything that is missing from Vourvoulos and in that way you can combine liveliness and serenity.
