“Whoever drinks wine has a golden heart,” used to be a saying used by the older generation. And it fits like a glove at Santorini, since they are good-hearted revellers who appreciate good wine.
And since wine has a world-wide effect on the heart, below is a list of Santorini’s vineyards:
Art Space: Museum – Cultural Center – Old winery since 1861.
Wines: Visanto (red), Nyhteri (dry- white), Agios Augoustos (dry- white)
Cultural Centre: Painting, sculpting, Photography, hand-made jewellery
Museum: The distillery equipment and the ovens of the old distillery are preserved in the old rakidio. You can also see the last-standing pre-industrial tomato processing equipment as it was established one and a half centuries ago. Fine art paintings and status can be seen in the kanaves of the old winery of 1861. Guests can also see the wine press, the linen and the dagger.

During the summer months a traditional tavern is based in Canava Roussos serving traditional dishes. There are also music festivals, exhibitions and plays performed at the Canava Roussos.
